Azerbaijan's GDP decreases since early 2021

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 11

The gross domestic product of Azerbaijan (GDP) decreased by 3.2 percent from January through February 2021 compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports with reference to the country’s State Statistical Committee.

According to the committee, for the reporting period, Azerbaijan's GDP totaled over 12 billion manat ($7.07 billion).

At the same time, value-added in the oil and gas sector decreased by 7.5 percent, and in the non-oil sector - by 0.4 percent.

As reported, GDP per capita in the specified period amounted to 1,201.6 manat ($706.8), having dropped by 4.9 percent on an annualized basis.

The Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan predicts the growth of Azerbaijan's GDP in 2021 at 3.4 percent.
