Iran shares data on new enterprises in industrial sector

The number of enterprises put into operation in the industrial sector of Iran increased by 7 percent during the 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020, through February 18, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing the statistics of Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade.

According to the statistics, 6,490 enterprises were put into operation over 11 months. While in the same period last Iranian year, 6,070 enterprises were put into operation in Iran.

A total of 1.79 quadrillion rials (about $42.6 billion) was spent on the launch of enterprises within 11 months. This is an increase of 235 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. This figure was 534 trillion rials (about $12.7 billion) in the same period last Iranian year, the statistics said.

“More than 121,000 people were employed in Iran’s industrial sector for 11 months with the launch of these enterprises. The employment increased by 22.6 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, 98,900 people were employed in the same period last Iranian year,” the statistics said.
