Foreign direct investments in the economy of Azerbaijan totaled over $4.52 billion in 2020, Trend reports with reference to the statistical report of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
As the CBA said, this indicator has grown by 5.9 percent on an annualized basis.
In the first quarter of 2020, foreign direct investments in the Azerbaijani economy amounted to $1.19 billion, in the second quarter - $919 million, in the third and fourth quarters - $ 1.28 and 1.14 billion, respectively.
In 2020, direct foreign investments of Azerbaijani companies amounted to $825.3 million, which indicates a decline by almost 3 times.
Over the year, the share of the oil and gas sector in investments amounted to 86.6 percent, which is 8.3 percentage points more than in 2019.
