The unemployment rate in Azerbaijan in 2021 is expected to make up 5.8 percent against 6.5 percent in 2019, Trend reports referring to the World Economic Outlook report of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) issued in April 2020.
According to the outlook, in 2022 the unemployment in the country will decline to 5.7 percent.
Along with this, IMF forecasted Azerbaijan’s GDP growth by 2.3 and 1.7 percent in 2021 and 2022.
Earlier, Standard & Poor's predicted unemployment in Azerbaijan in 2021 at 5.7 percent, in 2022 - five percent, and in the next two years - 4.9 and 4.7 percent, respectively.
