The head added that licenses have been issued to conduct exploration operations at 14 places in Yazd Province over the past six months. Discussions are underway to conduct exploration operations elsewhere.

"An appeal was made to the Environmental Protection Organization of Iran on the issuance of permits for exploration of 19c and 20d mines," he said.

The deputy minister emphasized that the activities of 200 small mines in Iran are to be restored in the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2021, through March 20, 2022). Five of these mines are in Yazd Province.
