Turkmenistan raises wages every year

Salaries, pensions, allowances and scholarships are increased by 10 percent annually in
Turkmenistan, said President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Trend reports with reference to the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

The president made the remark during an interview with Russian 'Mir' International Television and Radio Company.

He noted that more than 70 percent of the state budget of Turkmenistan is allocated for social needs.

In particular, new housing is being built in the country, school and preschool institutions, and health facilities are being built.

Overall, more than $38 billion has been invested in the construction industry, he said.

Turkmenistan is preparing the state budget for 2022. Along with the main financial plan, it is planned to develop projects of the main directions of socio-economic development and investment program.

The work on the plan is carried out taking into account the tasks outlined in the Program of President of Turkmenistan on Socio-economic Development of the Country for 2019-2025

The plan for revenues of the State Budget of Turkmenistan was exceeded by 0.1 percent, and the expenditure part was fulfilled by 99.9 percent in 2020.

The plan for local budget revenues for the reporting period was exceeded by 2.2 percent, while the plan for expenditures reached 99.9 percent.

During the past year, 119 meetings of the balance sheet commissions were held, including 104 regional ones. During the reporting period, 85 units of state property were privatized.

The volume of investments allocated for the development of the national economy at the expense of all sources of financing amounted to 22.4 percent of GDP. The investment program for 2020 was exceeded by 2.4 percent, while 55.7 percent of capital investments were spent on industrial facilities, and 44.3 percent on social facilities.
