Liabilities of Baku branch of Bank Melli Iran increase in 2Q2021

The total liabilities of the Baku branch of state-owned Bank Melli Iran increased by 12.3 percent as of the second quarter of 2021 compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing the bank's balance sheet.

In accordance with the report, the bank's total liabilities increased by 5.8 million manat ($3.4 million) up to 52.7 million manat ($31 million).

Some 37.4 percent (19.7 million manat $11.6 million) in the structure of liabilities accounted for liabilities to the financial institutions, which increased by 14.6 percent for the year.

The volume of customer accounts amounted to 14.4 million manat ($8.5 million), an increase of 34 percent on an annualized basis.

The obligations on a subordinated loan reached 18.2 million manat ($10.7 million), which is by 5.9 percent more than a year earlier.

Deferred income tax liabilities amounted to 318,560 manat ($187,388), increasing by 2.2 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2020. Other liabilities accounted for 38,610 manat ($22,711).

In accordance with the report, the share capital in annual terms remained unchanged and amounted to 73.6 million manat ($43.3 million) while the uncovered loss reached 35.7 million manat ($21 million).

The bank's total capital increased by 2.4 percent up to 37.9 million manat ($22.3 million) in the second quarter of 2021 compared to 37.05 million manat ($21.8 million) in the second quarter of 2020.
