The number of client accounts in Azerbaijani banks in the first half of 2021 increased, Trend reports citing the statistical report of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to the CBA, this showing reached 23.3 million, increasing by 17.7 percent on annual basis.
A big part (85.5 percent) in the structure of client accounts accounted for 19.93 million current accounts, which is a growth of 17.1 percent compared to the first six months of 2020.
Almost all current accounts (19.65 million) belonged to individuals.
Credit accounts amounted to 3.15 million custom(13.5 percent in the structure of client accounts), and deposit accounts – over 235,000 (one percent).
The number of bank clients by early July 2021, having increased by 23 percent, reached 10.5 million, 10.35 million of which are individuals.
Some 26 banks operate in Azerbaijan, two of which are state-owned and 24 are private.
