Kazakhstan's names its biggest trade partners among EU member states

Kazakhstan’s trade turnover with the countries of European Union amounted to $16.4 billion over the period from January through July 2021, which indicates an increase as compared to $14.3 billion during the same period last year, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

The largest share of Kazakhstan’s foreign trade with the EU members over the reporting period accounted for Italy with $4.8 billion in trade, which is 4.3 percent more than $4.6 billion over the same period of 2020. Italy accounted for 9 percent of Kazakhstan’s total foreign trade during the reporting period of 2021.

Kazakhstan's export to Italy stood at $4.3 billion ($4.1 billion over 7M2020), whereas imports equaled $458.6 million ($507.1 million over 7M2020).

Italy is followed by the Netherlands with $2.8 billion in trade, which is 38.2 percent more than $2.03 billion over the same period of 2020. The Netherlands accounted for 5.2 percent of Kazakhstan’s total foreign trade during the reporting period of 2021.

Kazakhstan's export to the Netherlands stood at $2.6 billion ($1.8 billion over 7M2020), whereas imports equaled $139.7 million ($145.1 million over 7M2020).

Furthermore, the third largest trade partner of Kazakhstan among the EU member countries was France with a total of $1.7 billion in trade, which is 15 percent more than during the same period of 2020 ($1.5 billion).

Kazakhstan’s export to France was $1.38 billion ($1.1 billion), whereas import was $378.5 million ($408.3 million).
