Azerbaijan sees increase in volume of loans issued in capital and districts

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 26

The volume of loans issued in the capital and districts of Azerbaijan increased in 10M2021compared to the same period last year by 1.59 billion manats ($935.5 million), or 11 percent - from 14.41 billion ($8.5 billion) to 15.99 billion manats ($9.4 billion), Trend reports with reference to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

According to the CBA, loans worth 12.50 billion manats ($7.3 billion) were issued in Baku during this period, which is 1.3 times more than the figure for the districts.

In the capital, loans in national currency accounted for 8.2 billion manats ($4.8 billion) or 65.7 percent of total lending in Baku.

The average annual interest rate on loans in the country amounted to 11.75 percent, in Baku - 10.12 percent.
