Loans to households in Azerbaijan increase

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 25. The largest share of loans issued fell on households in Azerbaijan, in March 2022 amounting to 51.4 percent of total lending, Trend reports citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Republic (CBAR).

According to CBAR, the volume of loans issued to households increased by 2.3 billion manat ($1.3 billion) during this period, or 34.8 percent, from 6.8 billion manat ($4 billion) to 9.2 billion manat ($5.4 billion).

At the same time, lending to the sphere of trade and services increased over the year by 563.6 million manat ($331.5 million), or 22.3 percent - up to 3.08 billion manat ($1.8 billion) compared to 2.5 billion manat ($1.4 billion) in March 2021. The share of trade and services in the total volume of lending amounted to 17.1 percent.
