Azerbaijan records growth of net financial assets

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 13. Net financial assets increased by $848.9 million from January through March of this year, Trend reports citing the reporting data of Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

According to the report, the growth of net financial assets was driven by an increase in portfolio and other investments of $119.2 million and $766 million, respectively, also a decrease in foreign direct investment by $36.3 million.

An increase was recorded in oil revenue bonuses and other investments of $450.2 million and $279.8 million, respectively,in the reporting period. Also, a decrease was recorded in foreign direct investment by $1.02 billion and portfolio investment - for $48.8 million. Therefore, net financial liabilities decreased by $346.7 million.

Azerbaijan's balance of payments amounted to $1.5 billion from January through March 2022, which is 4.8 times higher than the same period last year.
