BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 9. Iran imported goods for cryptocurrency worth $10 million for the first time, Iranian Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade and Head of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI), Alireza Peymanpak wrote on Twitter, Trend reports.

The operations were carried out within this week.

According to the deputy minister, by the end of the 6th month of the current Iranian year (September 22, 2022), the using of cryptocurrency and 'smart contracts' will become common in Iran's foreign trade with other countries.

Peymanpak did not disclose which cryptocurrency was used in Iran’s imports.

In May 2022, Director General of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI), Ali Salehabadi stated that in the coming months, the CBI will use the use of the national cryptocurrency as a test.
