BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 27. The Bank Keshavarzi Iran issued 386,593 loans worth 707 trillion rials (about $16.8 billion), during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2022), Trend reports citing the bank’s website.

This is an increase of 115 percent in value and 61 percent in number compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 240,098 loans worth 392 trillion rials (about $7.83 billion).

Within 5 months, the Bank Keshavarzi Iran issued 358,208 loans worth 610 trillion rials (about $14.5 billion) in the country’s agricultural sector.

In total, the Bank Keshavarzi Iran issued 1,225,654 loans worth about 1.79 quadrillion rials (about $42.6 billion) from the beginning of the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021) to the end of the 5th month of the current Iranian year (August 22, 2022).

Of this, 1.56 quadrillion rials (about $37.2 billion) was issued in the agricultural sector.
