BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 24. The monthly inflation rate in Iran increased by 49.7 percent in the 6th month of the current Iranian year (August 23 through September 22, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of the Statistical Center of Iran (SCI).
The statistics show that families spent an average of 49.7 percent more on products and services in the 6th month of the current Iranian year compared to the same month last Iranian year.
The monthly increase in prices of food, soft drinks, and tobacco products in Iran was 75.4 percent in the sixth month, while in the non-food and services sector was 35.4 percent, according to the statistics.
At the same time, the monthly inflation rate in Iran for the 6th month decreased by 2.5 percent compared to the 5th month of the current Iranian year (July 23 through August 22, 2022).
Within the 6th month, the monthly inflation rate in Iranian cities was 48.4 percent. This is 2.7 percent less than in the 5th month.
Meanwhile, in villages in Iran, the monthly inflation rate was 56.3 percent for the sixth month. This is a decrease of 2.1 percent compared to the 5th month.
Whereas, the annual inflation rate in the country (September 23, 2021 through September 22, 2022), was 42.1 percent. This is an increase of 0.6 percent compared to the previous period (September 22, 2020 through September 22, 2021).
At the end of the 6th month of the current Iranian year, the annual inflation rate was 41.5 percent in Iranian cities, while - 45.3 percent in villages. This shows an increase of 0.6 percent in cities and 0.9 percent in villages compared to the previous period.
