BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 24. The monthly inflation rate in Iran increased by 48.6 percent in the 7th month of the current Iranian year (September 23 through October 22, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of the Statistical Center of Iran (SCI).
The statistics show that families spent an average of 48.6 percent more on products and services in the 7th month of the current Iranian year compared to the same month last Iranian year.
The monthly increase in prices of food, soft drinks, and tobacco products in Iran was 70.7 percent in the seventh month, while in the non-food and services sector was 36.1 percent, according to the statistics.
At the same time, the monthly inflation rate in Iran for the 7th month decreased by 1.1 percent compared to the 6th month of the current Iranian year (August 23 through September 22, 2022).
Within the 7th month, the monthly inflation rate in Iranian cities was 47.7 percent. This is 0.7 percent less than in the 6th month.
Meanwhile, in villages in Iran, the monthly inflation rate was 53.2 percent for the seventh month. This is a decrease of 3.1 percent compared to the 6th month.
Whereas, the annual inflation rate in the country (October 23, 2021 through October 22, 2022), was 42.9 percent. This is an increase of 0.8 percent compared to the previous period (October 22, 2020 through October 22, 2021).
At the end of the 7th month of the current Iranian year, the annual inflation rate was 42.3 percent in Iranian cities, while - 46.2 percent in villages. This shows an increase of 0.8 percent in cities and 0.9 percent in villages compared to the previous period.
