BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 29. The amount of loans issued by Iranian banks to manufacturing enterprises and small entrepreneurs increased by 45 percent, during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 23, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, head of the public relations department of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI), Mostafa Ghamari Vafa told IRNA, Trend reports.

The official noted that in total, Iranian banks issued loans worth about 22.5 quadrillion rials (about $535 billion) in 7 months.

“Some 84 percent of loans were issued to manufacturing enterprises, and 16 percent to small entrepreneurs,” he added.

In addition, the country’s banks issued loans worth 1.2 quadrillion rials (about $28.8 billion) to more than 1.37 million citizens for the payment of apartment rent and marriage since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022), Ghamari Vafa said.
