BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 24. The monthly inflation rate in Iran increased by 48.5 percent in the 9th month of the current Iranian year (November 22 through December 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of the Statistical Center of Iran (SCI).
The statistics show that families spent an average of 48.5 percent more on products and services in the 9th month of the current Iranian year compared to the same month last Iranian year.
The monthly increase in prices of food, soft drinks, and tobacco products in Iran was 65.3 percent in the 9th month, while in the non-food and services sector was 38.9 percent, according to the statistics.
At the same time, the monthly inflation rate in Iran for the 9th month decreased by 0.4 percent compared to the 8-th month of the current Iranian year (October 23 through November 21, 2022).
Within the 9th month, the monthly inflation rate in Iranian cities was 47.9 percent. This is 0.6 percent more than in the 8th month.
Meanwhile, in villages in Iran, the monthly inflation rate was 51.4 percent for the 9th month. This is a decrease of 0.9 percent compared to the 8th month.
Annual inflation rate in the country (December 22, 2021 through December 21, 2022), was 45 percent. This is an increase of 1 percent compared to the previous period (December 20, 2020 through December 21, 2021).
At the end of the 9th month of the current Iranian year, the annual inflation rate was 44.3 percent in Iranian cities, while - 48.6 percent in villages. This shows an increase of 1 percent in cities and 1.2 percent in villages compared to the previous period.
