BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 23. The monthly inflation rate in Iran increased by 51.3 percent in the 10th month of the current Iranian year (December 22, 2022 through January 20, 2023), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of the Statistical Center of Iran (SCI).

The statistics show that families spent an average of 51.3 percent more on products and services in the 10th month of the current Iranian year compared to the same month last Iranian year.

The monthly increase in prices of food, soft drinks, and tobacco products in Iran was 69.2 percent in the 10th month, while in the non-food and services sector was 41.2 percent, according to the statistics.

At the same time, the monthly inflation rate in Iran for the 10th month increased by 2.8 percent compared to the 9th month of the current Iranian year (November 22 through December 21, 2022).

Within the 10th month, the monthly inflation rate in Iranian cities was 50.6 percent. This is 2.7 percent more than in the 9th month.

Meanwhile, in villages in Iran, the monthly inflation rate was 54.9 percent for the 10th month. This is an increase of 3.5 percent compared to the 9th month.

The annual inflation rate in the country (January 21, 2022 through January 20, 2023), was 46.3 percent. This is an increase of 1 percent compared to the previous period (January 20, 2021 through January 20, 2022).

At the end of the 10th month of the current Iranian year, the annual inflation rate was 45.5 percent in Iranian cities, while - 50 percent in villages. This shows an increase of 1.2 percent in cities and 1.4 percent in villages compared to the previous period.
