BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 22. The monthly inflation rate in Iran increased by 53.4 percent in the 11th month of the current Iranian year (January 21 through February 19, 2023), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of the Statistical Center of Iran (SCI).
The statistics show that families spent an average of 53.4 percent more on products and services in the 11th month of the current Iranian year compared to the same month last Iranian year.
The monthly increase in prices of food, soft drinks, and tobacco products in Iran was 70.5 percent in the 11th month, while in the non-food and services sector was 43.5 percent, according to the statistics.
At the same time, the monthly inflation rate in Iran for the 11th month increased by 2.1 percent compared to the 10th month of the current Iranian year (December 22, 2022, through January 20, 2023).
Within the 11th month, the monthly inflation rate in Iranian cities was 52.7 percent. This is 2.1 percent more than in the 10th month.
Meanwhile, in villages in Iran, the monthly inflation rate was 56.7 percent for the 11th month. This is an increase of 1.8 percent compared to the 10th month.
The annual inflation rate in the country (February 20, 2022, through February 19, 2023), was 47.7 percent. This is an increase of 1.4 percent compared to the previous period (February 20, 2021, through February 19, 2022).
At the end of the 11th month of the current Iranian year, the annual inflation rate was 46.9 percent in Iranian cities, while – 51.7 percent in villages. This shows an increase of 1.4 percent in cities and 1.7 percent in villages compared to the previous period.
