BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 21. A surplus in the state budget of Azerbaijan has been registered since the beginning of the year, Trend reports citing the report of the State Statistics Committee.

In the reporting period, the country’s state budget revenues exceeded 5.8 billion manat ($3.4 billion), up by 27.1 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

Meanwhile, state budget expenditures reached 3.6 billion manat ($2.1 billion), which was 48.3 percent more than in the same period in 2022.

Thus, at the end of February, a surplus of 2.2 billion manat ($1.2 billion) was formed in the state budget, and the nominal GDP of Azerbaijan made up 19.8 billion manat ($11.6 billion).

In 2022, the state budget revenues of Azerbaijan increased by 16.2 percent, reaching 30.6 million manat ($18 million).

The budget expenditures last year increased by 16.7 percent compared to 2021 and amounted to 32 million manat ($18.8 million). Thus, a budget deficit of 1.3 million manat ($760,000) was formed.
