BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 25. Overall, 8.4 million bank checks worth approximately 5.09 quadrillion rials (about $121 billion) were exchanged in Iran for the 11th month of the last Iranian year (January 21 through February 19, 2023), Trend reports via the report of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

This is an increase of 20.7 percent in value and 27.3 percent in number compared to the 10th month (December 21, 2022 through January 20, 2023).

Meanwhile, in the 10th month of the last Iranian year, 6.6 million bank checks worth approximately 4.21 quadrillion rials (about $100 billion) were exchanged in the country. This shows an increase of 5.9 percent in value, while a decrease of 8.6 percent in volume compared to the 9th month (November 22 through December 21, 2022).

In total, over 7.2 million bank checks worth approximately 3.98 quadrillion rials (about $94.7 billion) were exchanged in Iran for the 9th month of the current Iranian year (November 22 through December 21, 2022).

Last year, a check exchange system was established in Iran. Under the mentioned system, banks can check the authenticity of checks handed over to banks as online.
