BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 20. A surplus has been recorded in the state budget of Azerbaijan since the beginning of the year, Trend reports with reference to data of the State Statistics Committee of the country.
According to the data, from January through April 2023, the revenues of the country's state budget exceeded 12.16 billion manat ($7.1 billion), which is 13.8 percent more year-on-year.
Moreover, state budget expenditures reached 8.9 billion manat ($5.2 billion), which is 9.3 percent higher year-on-year.
Thus, at the end of April 2023, a surplus of 3.2 billion manat ($1.8 billion) was formed in the state budget.
The nominal GDP of Azerbaijan in the specified period amounted to 39.9 billion manat ($23.4 billion).

In 2022, the state budget revenues of Azerbaijan increased by 16.2 percent, reaching 30.6 million manat ($18 million). The budget expenditures last year increased by 16.7 percent compared to 2021 and amounted to 32 million manat ($18.8 million). Thus, a budget deficit of 1.3 million manat ($760,000) was formed.
