BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 24. The bank deposits of the population in Azerbaijan (including funds of individuals engaged in individual entrepreneurial activity) on June 1, 2023, increased by 5.6 percent up to 12.4 billion manat ($7.2 billion) compared to the indicator at the end of 2022, Trend reports.
According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, the population's bank deposits in foreign currency from January through May 2023 decreased by 2.4 percent to 4.7 billion manat ($2.7 billion), accounting for 38 percent of all deposits of the population.
The volume of deposits of the population in the national currency increased by 7.7 percent to 7.6 billion manat ($4.4 billion), accounting for 62 percent of all deposits.
The volume of bank deposits of residents is 11 billion manat ($6.4 billion) as of June 1, 2023, non–residents - 1.3 billion manat ($764.7 million). While deposits of residents increased by 4.7 percent, non-residents - by 14.1 percent during the reporting period.
The amount of contributions and deposits in banks amounted to 35.3 billion manat ($20.7 billin) in general as of June 1, 2023, which is 2.4 percent less than at the end of 2022.
The bank deposits of the population in Azerbaijan (including funds of individuals engaged in individual entrepreneurial activity) amounted to 11.7 billion manat ($6.8 billion) by the end of 2022.
