ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 23. The total volume of cash withdrawals through ATMs in Turkmenistan from January through July 2023 amounted to 12.01 billion Turkmen manats ($3.43 billion), Trend reports.
According to the Central Bank of Turkmenistan, during the specified period, these figures are 19.7 percent higher than similar figures for the first 7 months of last year (10.03 billion Turkmen manats or $2.87 billion).
At the same time, the total amount of cash withdrawals through terminals amounted to 119.36 million Turkmen manats ($34.17 million), which is more than two times less than in the first seven months of 2022 (246.56 million Turkmen manats or $70.58 million).
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan's financial industry is continuously growing. Specifically, mobile apps are being introduced for the payment of diverse services and products, the volume of electronic transactions is on the rise, and the settlement for merchandise and services is being facilitated via banking terminals.
