ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 19. The Russian government has approved a list of countries, including Turkmenistan, whose banks can remotely identify foreign customers to open accounts and cards with Russian credit institutions, Trend reports.

According to an official source, the corresponding order was signed by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mishustin.

The list includes 25 states where foreign banks and financial organizations have the right to carry out the procedure of identification of foreign citizens and legal entities who wish to open accounts in Russia.

The order is required to implement a law passed in July that simplified the access of foreign citizens to Russian financial services, allowing Russian banks to open accounts remotely after identification carried out by foreign colleagues.

Meanwhile, cooperation between Russian and Turkmen banks is an important factor in deepening economic relations between the two countries. It promotes access to a variety of banking services, including lending, international financial transactions, and investments, thereby facilitating trade and mutual investment, as well as strengthening mutual trust and economic cooperation between Russia and Turkmenistan.
