BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 30. The point-to-point inflation rate in Iran increased by 39.2 percent in the 7th month of the current Iranian year (September 23 through October 22, 2023), compared with the same month last year, Trend reports.
Data from Iran’s Statistical Center shows that families in Iran spent an average of 39.2 percent more on a number of products and services, in the 7th month of the current Iranian year.
Point-to-point inflation is the percentage change in the number in the price index compared to the same period last year.
In the 7th month, the price index was 206.5 in Iran.
Point-to-point inflation in the 7th month was 36.2 percent in prices of food, soft drinks, and tobacco products in Iran, while in the non-food and services sector 40.9 percent.
Point-to-point inflation in the 7th month was 39.3 percent in Iran’s cities and 38.8 percent in villages.
According to the report, the monthly inflation in the country for the 7th month, increased by 0.3 percent compared to the 6th month (August 23 through September 22, 2023) and reached 2.3 percent.
Monthly inflation rate refers to the percentage change of the price index number compared to the previous month.
In the 7th month, monthly inflation was 2.4 percent in cities and 2 percent in villages.
At the end of the 7th month, the annual inflation rate in the country (October 23, 2022 through October 22, 2023) decreased by 0.6 percent compared to the previous period (September 23, 2021 through September 22, 2022) and amounted to 45.5 percent.
Annual inflation rate means the average percentage change in price index numbers over the past 1 year. At the end of the 7th month, annual inflation was 45.1 percent in Iranian cities and 48.9 percent in villages.
