BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 17. Iranian banks lent approximately 1.53 quadrillion rials (about $36.4 billion) in the housing and construction sectors of the country in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), Trend reports.
Data of Iran’s Central bank shows that the loans were allocated for various purposes in the housing and construction sectors:
- Construction work: 831 trillion rials (about $19.8 billion);
- Working capital: around 596 trillion rials (about $14.2 billion);
- Development work: 56.4 trillion rials (about $1.34 billion);
- Purchase of housing: 37.2 trillion rials (about $886 million);
- Purchase of personal assets: 4.65 trillion rials (about $111 million);
- Repair work: 1.38 trillion rials (about $32.8 million);
- Self-employment: 1.2 trillion rials (about $28.5 million).
In total, the Iranian banks issued loans worth about 27.6 quadrillion rials (about $656 billion) in various economic sectors within the first 8 months of the current Iranian year.
