Azerbaijan's monetary base shooting through roof

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 1. The monetary base in Azerbaijan amounted to 20.401 billion manat, or $12 billion, on June 28, 2024, which is 10.86 percent, or 1.999 billion manat ($1.17 billion), more than the indicator for the same period in 2023, Trend reports.

According to the data of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), the monetary base in the reporting period of 2023 exceeded 18.401 billion manat, or $10.8 billion.

The indicator of the monetary base in June this year is 2.27 percent, or 453 million manat ($266.47 million), more than the indicator as of May 31, 2024.

To note, the monetary base includes cash and free bank and compulsory reserves of commercial banks in circulation.
