BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 6. Baku will host the "Materials for Energy Storage and Conversion" international symposium to debate methods of energy storage and conversion (in batteries of different types and sizes) on October 7–10, a source in the symposium's co-organizer, the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) told Trend.
"Given Azerbaijan's efforts to expand renewable energy projects and optimize the energy sector, the topic of energy accumulation, storage, and conversion on batteries becomes critical. The 8th specialized international symposium in Baku will focus on this topic, which is being examined by all major energy firms," the source emphasized.
The themes for the upcoming event in Baku include: 1) computational design of materials for energy storage and conversion in batteries; 2) assessment of battery lifespan and recycling; 3) methods for researching fuel cells; and 4) hydrogen storage and transportation.
To note, the first symposium, "Materials for Energy Storage and Conversion (MESC)," was held in Ankara, Turkey, in 2015, and has subsequently been conducted in other locations across the world.
