BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 6. Azerbaijan, alongside its partner states, will soon embark on a journey to tackle climate change that will go down in history, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Union of Judges Ramiz Rzayev said during the Law & Climate International Conference in Baku today, Trend reports.
"Today, we are drawing the attention of the legal community to the discussion of pressing issues. It is unfortunately well-known to all of us that climate change presents a serious challenge for our world. These changes have a huge impact on human rights, lifestyles, and the overall well-being of populations. Azerbaijan also takes international cooperation in combating climate change seriously. As is known, Azerbaijan will host a significant international event this year – the Conference of the Parties (COP 29).
This event will be a source of pride for each of us. Today's international conference, jointly organized with the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan, aims to attract the attention of Azerbaijan and the international community to issues related to climate change and associated processes. Another important goal is to raise awareness of existing international and national legal mechanisms regulating this area," he added.
