BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 10. Pope Francis, head of the Catholic Church, has expressed his hope that the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) will play a key role in "protecting our common home", Trend reports.
The Pope shared these sentiments during his traditional Angelus prayer.
Highlighting the significance of the COP29 summit in Baku, the pontiff stated, "I hope that the climate change conference, which begins tomorrow in Baku, will provide effective support in safeguarding our common home."
It is anticipated that Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin will visit Azerbaijan to participate in COP29.
