Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend A.Badalova / The development of science in the information technology sector will allow Azerbaijan to expand its IT presence in the country's economy, Ayvar Jayever, Nobel Prize Laureate and Norwegian-American physics scientist, said at the First International Conference on Material and Information Sciences in High Technology in Baku on 26 September.
The development of science in the IT sector will contribute in the improvement of work conditions, as well as an increase of efficiency in the industrial sector.
Javeyer noted the importance of the conference held in Baku.
"The forum attaches major importance to science in the IT sector. I hope to know more about the development of this science in Azerbaijan," he added.
The physician stressed the identity of the economy of Azerbaijan and Norway.
" Norway has the same priorities equal to the problems existing in Azerbaijan. Norway has oil, but it will exhaust and the country should be ready for it," Jayever said.
The conference will conclude 29 September. The conference is organized jointly with the Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan with assistance from the Japanese Physics Society.
Key speakers at the conference are scientists from Japan, Azerbaijan, Germany and Saudi Arabia delivering reports in English.
