Azerbaijan, Baku, 17 January / corr. Trend S. Babayeva/ The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology of Azerbaijan has transferred AZN22.9 mln to the public budget, Reshad Nabiyev, the head of the Finance, Calculation and Economic Analysis Department of the Ministry said.
"The transfers to the State Fund for Social Protection exceeded AZN 10 mln," he said. According to Nabiyev, AZN 158.4 has been invested into the telecommunications sphere last year and the share of the Communications & IT Ministry totalled AZN39.3 mln.
The revenue from the communication sphere made up AZN719.9 mln in 2007, the private sector accounts for 78.3% and the communication services provided to the population accounts for 72.6% of the revenue.
