Communication and IT Ministry Extends Tender to Establish NGN in Azerbaijani Region

Azerbaijan, Baku, 24 June / corr. Trend S.Babayeva / Aztelekom Production Association Unit of the Azerbaijani Communication and Information Technology Ministry extended the tender on the construction of Next Generation Network (NGN) in one more region of Azerbaijan.

According to Aztelekom, the ceremony to unseal the tender bids was adjourned to 23 July, because of absence of any company in the tender to render NGN services in Agdash District, central Azerbaijan.

Bids by interested companies will be adopted by 22 July. The participation fee in the tender amounts to AZN 2,000.

NGN was constructed and put into exploitation in Shamakhi district and its 23 villages last year. It has enabled all residents of the district to use the services of IP telephone, Internet, television and data service. For this purpose, necessary devices made by Slovenian Iskratel were installed in all rural ATSs (Automatic Telephone System) and Central ATS of Shamakhi.

NGN (Next Generation Network) is a universal multi-purpose network considered for transmitting speech, images, and data by using the commutations packages.

NGN Network ensures the quality of service necessary for different kinds of telecommunication traffic. Introducing this technology will allow the subscribers to take advantage of using services such as VIP-telephone, voice mail, data transmission service, multimedia services, private virtual networks, unified message exchange, on-line message exchange, interactive speech reply services, interactive games, video conferences and home manager.
