A venture fund to support startups will be created in Azerbaijan, head of the Innoland startup support center Mammad Karimov told Trend Dec. 20.
He said the work in this direction will be carried out the next year.
"It will be a state project," he noted. "However, the private sector is also taking the initiative in this direction."
It was earlier reported that proposals on regulating the activities of venture funds in the country will be prepared by the relevant state agencies of Azerbaijan.
The prepared proposals will be reflected in the relevant legislation, which is an important component for establishment of IT venture funds in Azerbaijan.
