The number of fixed Internet subscribers in Georgia reached 900,000 as of July 1, 2019, which is 11 percent more than a year earlier, Trend reports referring to the Georgian National Communication Commission (GNCC).
As reported, since July 1, 2019, the subscription fee for connecting to the Internet has decreased almost four times. In particular, the cost of 1 Mbit per second decreased from 32 to 9 lari (from $11 to $3.1).
In May 2019, the Georgian National Communication Commission completed a research of the fixed and mobile telecommunications market. According to the results of the research, an upper limit was set for the tariff for the Internet service.
