Azerbaijan's satellite operator reveals seven-month export revenues

The revenues of Azerbaijan's Azercosmos OJSC from the export of satellite and telecommunication services equaled $28.1 million from January through July 2020, which is 10.2 percent more compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports citing the ‘Export Review’ of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC).

According to the CAERC, Azercosmos' revenues from the export of the mentioned services made up 90 percent of the space operator's total revenues.

In seven months of 2020, services were provided to 27 countries, including the UK, the US, France, Malaysia and the UAE.

In June 2020, Azercosmos exported the services in the amount of $6.5 million to 19 countries, the CAERC noted.

Azercosmos OJSC operates two communication satellites - Azerspace-1 and Azerspace-2, as well as the Azersky low-orbit satellite.

In 2019, the company's revenue from satellite and telecommunication services exports amounted to $43.4 million, which is 70 percent more compared to 2018.
