About 80 new base stations for quality mobile communications have been launched on the territory of the entire Samarkand region of Uzbekistan since the beginning of 2020, Trend reports referring to the press service of Uzbektelecom national operator.
Uzbektelecom announced at the end of 2019 the start of a project to modernize its network throughout Uzbekistan, which was successfully completed in August 2020.
The Uzbektelecom technical team has updated and modernized several thousand base stations in all regions of the country, which made it possible to transfer all existing 2G and 3G sectors to the LTE (4G) standard.
The modernization also touched a dozen regions and residential areas of the Samarkand region. As a result of the launch of new base stations, as well as the modernization of the network and the transfer of sectorial antennas of the 3G standard to 4G.
About 80 new base stations have been launched on the territory of the entire Samarkand region since the beginning of 2020, providing high-quality mobile communications for the residents of the region.
Despite COVID-related quarantine measures and traffic restrictions throughout the country, the company monitored the execution of field events to connect new subscribers and deliver new SIM cards across the territory of Samarkand and other regions.
In addition, since the beginning of 2020, the technical service of the Uzbektelecom has managed to launch over 500 base stations in the regions, as well as to modernize the existing technical capacities, bringing them to the 4G standard. As a result, the quality and coverage of mobile communications and the Internet has improved markedly.
Uzbektelecom national operator continues to work on the quality of the service provided, the development of new profitable tariff plans and services, as well as the introduction of the latest standards and technologies for the development of telecommunications infrastructure in every region of Uzbekistan.
