Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan takes measures to provide population with high-speed internet

The upcoming tasks have been identified in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan, to provide residents of settlements with uninterrupted communications and Internet services, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Communications and New Technologies of Nakhchivan.

An action plan has been prepared and approved, and the activities of subordinate structures in this region have been determined, said the statement.

"Also, the regional (city) communications administrations are analyzing the state of telephone exchanges in the field, old cables are being replaced," the ministry said.

In addition, the ministry is focused on the creation of adequate fuel reserves for the smooth operation of the automatic telephone exchange.

The Communications Department of the Kangarli district created a material reserve, carried out a technical examination of devices operating on automatic telephone exchanges in order to provide residents of the Kangarli district of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic with uninterrupted communication and Internet access in the autumn-winter.

Some 88 new fixed telephone lines for nine months of this year have been laid on the territory of the region, 384 subscribers are provided with the Internet using broadband ADSL technology (asymmetric digital subscriber line). The prompt and necessary measures were taken during the service life in order to eliminate malfunctions in communication devices, and the failed equipment was replaced.
