Russia's Sberbank eyes introducing artificial intelligence technologies in Uzbek banking sector

Russia's Sberbank will help Uzbekistan’s domestic banking sector in the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies, Trend reports referring to Uzbek media.

The Deputy Chairman of the Board of Alokabank JSCB Farrukh Makhkamov said on the air of the Uzbekistan 24 TV channel that cooperation with the Sberbank group is being established to introduce artificial intelligence technologies.

“In particular, we plan to introduce voice biometrics technology, which will allow citizens of Uzbekistan to receive remote services through mobile phones and call centers,” he said.

Also, according to Makhkamov, together with the Sberbank Group, work is underway to use the technology of biometric identification (Face ID).

“We plan to introduce artificial intelligence to analyze credit risks, as well as improve the quality of banking services,” Makhkamov stressed.

According to the information, more than 35 countries, have adopted national strategies for the development of AI, and the total amount of AI spending in the world in 2020 is estimated at $50 billion. Geopolitically active players such as the US, China, UK, Japan, India, France, Germany, Canada, and the European Union as a whole, designate AI as a high priority in national security strategies and invest billions of dollars in this as part of long-term programs.
