Activity of illegal miners is one of the factors that led to the shortage of electricity, Kazakhstan’s Energy Minister Bolat Akchulakov said at a briefing in the Central Communications Service (CCS), Trend reports.
According to Akchulakov, the illegal miners affect the entire system.
“In relation to the digital mining entities, the ministry has taken a number of measures based on maintaining the stable operation of the energy system, providing the population with the energy system and real sectors of the economy - with tens of thousands of jobs,” he noted. “The Ministry of Energy deals with the issue of supplying the market with electricity.”
“As a result of the joint work of the competent authorities of the government, the illegal miners are identified. Specific measures are currently being identified. The results will be announced additionally,” the minister further said.
This year, electricity prices are planned to be kept at the level of 2021, concluded Akchulakov.
