BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 8. Azerbaijan’s AccessBank is planning to launch such global payment solutions as Apple Pay and GooglePay by the end of the first quarter of 2023, Board Chairman of AccessBank David Tsiklauri said this week, Trend reports.

According to Tsiklauri, the bank also plans to launch alternative customer service channels.

He noted that in this direction a great job was done and it will continue in the future.

In the coming year, all those service channels (chat-bots, ‘loan in five minutes’ and others) for individuals, that are considered necessary by the bank, will be fully provided, the board chairman added.

Besides, this week, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan Rovshan Rustamov said that 420,000 households in the country will be connected to the high-speed internet network based on Gigabit Passive Optimal Network (GPON) technology and shared plans to increase the minimum average internet speed to 25 Mbps by the end of 2024.

Meanwhile, Rustamov noted work on implementation of 'Clean radio' has been launched, leading to minimization of unauthorized use of radio-frequencies. The concept envisions to achieve this through the application of automatization of radio-frequencies management and other measures.

that from September 28, 2022, new tariff guidelines were adopted in frequency field with the consideration of decisions and recommendations of international organizations and experience of most countries of the world.

At the same time, according to the official, tariffs for registration fee have been also canceled, and only a one-time and annual maintenance fee will be charged.

Thus, in accordance with the international approach, Azerbaijan ensured the transition from tariffs based on radio electronic means to tariffs based on frequencies, he added.
