BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 18. The average download speeds for Azerbaijan's mobile and broadband internet access were 39.46 Mbps (5.3 percent more than the previous month) and 27.84 Mbps (a growth of 0.98 percent), respectively, in March 2023, Trend reports citing Ookla.
Azerbaijan has progressed to 54th from 57th by data transfer rate on broadband internet access in the Speedtest Global Index ranking.
In March this year, the mobile data download rate grew by 1.99 Mbps compared to the previous month. The outgoing mobile internet speed was 12.29 Mbps, up by 11.32 percent from February 2023 (11.04 Mbps).
Meanwhile, the data download speed for fixed broadband internet access increased by 0.27 Mbps on monthly basis, whereas the outgoing speed was 29.1 Mbps (up by 0.35 Mbps compared to the previous month).
In March 2023, the average speed of incoming and outgoing downloads worldwide through the mobile network totaled 41.54 and 10.42 Mbps, respectively.
According to Ookla, in the reporting month, Azerbaijan ranked 54th among 140 countries in mobile data download speed and 118th among 180 countries in broadband internet data transfer rate.
In January 2023, Azerbaijan ranked 64th among 138 countries in terms of mobile data download speed and 118th among 179 countries in broadband internet data transfer speed.
