Number of malicious URLs and viruses in AzStateNet network revealed

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 18. A total of 709.7 million malicious URLs were blocked through the new generation of security software, and 4,602 viruses were detained through the centralized antivirus system in the AzStateNet network during the third quarter of 2023, the Computer Emergency Response Center (CERT) under the Special Communication and Information Security State Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan told Trend.

"A total of 56,052 virus-containing documents were blocked with the help of special protection systems and were not allowed to be sent to state institutions," CERT said.

The number of threats blocked based on URLs increased 2.5 times in 2022, the centralized antivirus system (CAS) - by 18.67 percent and the so-called sandboxing - by more than five times.

In general, the number of blocked threats based on URLs was 96,085, CAS - 37,287, and the so–called sandboxing blocked 222,860 computer threats in the AzStateNet network by the end of 2022.

The AzStateNet network (Azerbaijan State Network) is a set of geographically distributed networks and access servers belonging to organizations that have the status of a state authority.
