Toshiba sells 20% of Notebooks in Azerbaijan

Igor Snitko, the Toshiba Europe GmbH General Manager for CIS and Baltic countries, PC Department, stated that on 22 November the Japanese company Toshiba is satisfied with its co-operation with Azerbaijan, Trend reports. Iin 2006 the rise in the sale of notebooks in Azerbaijan rose by 2.1 times as compared to 2005.

The sale of Notebooks world-wide and in the region is developing rapidly resulting in an increase in deliveries. . Toshiba shares are increasing very rapidly within Europe and CIS . Over the past 2 quarters, the sale of Toshiba products in Russia has grown three-fold as compared to 2005.

Snitko reported on the agreement made with AZEL for further business development not only in Azerbaijan, but in the Caspian region as a whole. In 2000 Toshiba signed an agreement with AZEL, which makes the latter an official distributor of Toshiba in Central Asia and South Caucasus.

In turn the AZEL Financial Manager, Ilona Breskina, stressed that at present 20% of the sale of notebooks in Azerbaijan is from Toshiba, which ranks 3rd in the local market with regards to volume of sales.
