Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Babayeva / The Minister of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan, Ali Abbasov, briefed the media on 7 June that the Ministry's Project of Popular Computer will serve to spread licensed program software in Azerbaijan. The program envisages the mass computerization of the population. The working group of the development of the project includes specialists of several ministries and companies including Intel and Microsoft.
Microsoft will present licensed program software and Intel, and relevant equipment on a privileged basis.
According to the Ministry's assessments, there are presently three to four computers for each one hundred people in Azerbaijan.
The Minister said that the process of licensing will begin firstly in State bodies and later in secondary schools.
