Uzbekistan, Qatar consider development of interaction in tourism sector

Uzbekistan and Qatar Particular considered the development of interaction in the cultural, humanitarian, and tourism fields, Trend reports referring to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

On February 23, 2021, another round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and the State of Qatar took place in Doha. The delegations of the parties were headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov and State Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Sultan bin Saad al-Mureikhiy.

The State Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar highly appreciated the large-scale reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to improve the system of public administration, modernize and liberalize the economy, create a favorable investment climate, and intensify international cooperation.

The parties discussed the state and prospects for the development of Uzbek-Qatari relations, as well as individual issues of an international and regional nature.

It was emphasized that Uzbekistan and Qatar have significant potential for the further development of multifaceted bilateral cooperation.

Also, the proposals on strengthening the inter-parliamentary dialogue, building up the trade, economic, and investment ties were considered.

In addition, particular attention was paid to the development of cooperation in the cultural, humanitarian, and tourism fields.

The head of the delegation of Uzbekistan invited the Qatari side to the International high-level conference “Central and South Asia: regional interconnectedness. Challenges and Opportunities”, which will be held this year in Tashkent.
