Some 94,219 Azerbaijani tourist citizens visited Georgia in February 2020, Trend reports citing Georgian National Tourism Administration.
As reported, in the annual comparison, their number increased by 10,708 people or 12.8 percent.
Last month, the majority of tourists in Georgia arrived from Azerbaijan.
In February, a total of 466,409 tourists visited Georgia, which is 0.7 percent less than a year earlier.
“Tourists from Azerbaijan account for seven percent of Georgia’s revenue in this area”, said Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Ekaterina Mikabadze.
According to her, there is successful cooperation between Georgia and Azerbaijan in the field of trade, tourism and investment.
"Azerbaijan is one of the main trading partners of Georgia. Among the countries exporting to Georgia, Azerbaijan ranks first with a share of 13 percent," Mikabadze said.
The deputy minister noted that currently there is a free trade regime between the two countries, which is regulated both in bilateral and multilateral formats.
Mikabadze praised the dynamics in the field of economic cooperation between Georgia and Azerbaijan.
