Cargo worth $1.1 million was transported via maritime transport from January through February 2020 in Azerbaijan, which is 38 percent more compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports referring to the country’s State Customs Committee.
The volume of cargo turnover via maritime transport amounted to almost 168,400 tons, which is nearly 38 percent more compared to the same period of 2019.
Almost 36,500 tons of cargo worth $15.3 million were exported by maritime transport, which is 37.7 percent less compared to the same period of 2019.
Cargo import via road transport amounted to 131,900 tons worth $121.6 million showing an increase by 62.9 percent.
During the reporting period, the overall cargo turnover of Azerbaijan amounted to $5.04 billion including $3.25 billion worth of export and $1.78 worth of import.
